Anti-Colonial School Psychology
Learning Collaborative
Community Unlearning
As disparities in education continue to exist across K-12 schools, school psychology practitioners and researchers are uniquely positioned to engage in anti-racism work. The first step to this process is to understand the ways that our field has perpetuated oppression and then, in community, vision a different way of engaging.
Created by four BIPOC early career School Psychology faculty, the Anti-Colonial School Psychology Learning Collaborative seeks to intentionally bring together school psychologists to a) understand the ways in which colonization and oppression are a fundamental part of the profession and b) consider ways that the field can move towards a more anti-oppressive stance by centering the research and lived experiences of those from marginalized communities.
Both the process and the outcomes are considered in the learning space.
